This year as the Durham Region Labour Council celebrates our success and struggles in a virtual gathering, we are calling on affiliates, labour activists and community builders to make every effort to gather support of a food drive, making a donation and assistance to our local organizations that are fighting hunger daily. The council has held historic celebrations of labour across the Durham Region for years, and bringing together community and workers in celebration. We could not accomplish this without the generous support of our affiliates of the council.

This year we are pleading for your continued support in a different way, our community members and organizations need our help. Our collective outreach is always in need and the labour movement responses. We have members of our unions and community partners assisting to bring hope to people in our workplaces and across the community. We need to step up our appetite for delivering change to the lives in our neighbourhoods. While we fight for safe workplaces and safe communities, our outreach has a huge opportunity to expand our generosity to families and individuals struggling for daily food and household items.
Donations of items are provided below, as well as financial donations in the form of cheques or grocery gift cards can and will also assist organizations providing food and support during these uncertain times in the global Covid-19 outbreak locally.
Can we count on your support to meet the needs in these times?
